Identify each existing finish
Distinguish lap or panel cladding from masonry veneer, stucco and layered finish systems. The original assembly affects removal and the replacement proposal.
Siding · Beaux Arts Village, Washington
Siding in Beaux Arts Village should be planned by the wall system you have, especially when lap cladding meets cedar accents, masonry or a different finish.
Evergreen Home Pro can help identify which surfaces are being replaced and which connections must be restored. Share close views of material junctions and wall attachments as well as a photograph of the whole exterior.

Siding replacement
A mixed facade needs a plan for how water leaves the joint between materials. Decide which accents remain and how their trim meets the replacement. Compare fastening, weather-barrier restoration and underlying repair rather than asking every material to fit the same installation approach.

Locate corners, ledges and roof-to-wall joints. Ask for a detail at each retained material so a new finish does not hide an unresolved transition.
List lights, address fixtures, screens and attached structures. Agree on removal, support and reinstallation responsibilities before the surface behind them is replaced.
Before work begins
The Town distinguishes nonstructural siding replacement from veneer, stucco and exterior insulation/finish systems in its exemption language. Check the applicable assembly and scope with the Building Department.
If the wall needs framing or substrate repairs, describe that work separately rather than assuming the finish-replacement provision covers it. Keep photos of concealed conditions and agree on approval for repairs before the new cladding closes the wall.
Have each assembly assessed and show the boundary of the intended work. The removal approach, permit discussion and transition detail may differ between the two surfaces.
Discuss their condition, thickness and attachment, then confirm the trim and flashing at the junction. A color match alone does not establish a workable connection.
Set the documentation and approval process before removal. If damage appears, identify its cause and the needed repair rather than covering it with the new finish.
Show us the wall elevations, cladding that should stay and fixtures attached to the exterior. We can discuss material junctions and a process for reviewing hidden repairs.
